Trinity County RCD Seeks Public Input for OHV Grant Application Development

Trinity County Resource Conservation District (RCD) is seeking public comments on proposals for the 2016/2017 California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHV) grant program.

The purpose of the funding request is to improve OHV access on Forest Service roads in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest’s South Fork Management Unit. Subject roads have critical repair and maintenance needs. Proposed work would entail manual brushing of encroaching vegetation to improve user safety. It would also improve road drainage to lessen risks to the watershed and aquatic ecosystems.

The preliminary OHV grant applications will be available online, starting March 7, by visiting the California State OHV Grants and Cooperative Agreements program at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov. The 30-day public review and comment period ends April 3. Public comment instructions are available online. The public may provide comment to both the applicant and the California State OHV program by emailing the contact person listed on the preliminary application and copying the California State OHV program at This email address is being protected from spambots. A meeting to allow public comment and feedback will be held on March 15 at 6:00 p.m. during the regular monthly RCD board of directors’ meeting at #30 Horseshoe Lane, Weaverville. The meeting agenda will be posted here on our homepage.
